Why you should attend
If you're building or releasing a mobile app, you need to be testing your app is accessible. On this course learn how to test on iOS and Android devices using VoiceOver and TalkBack as well as a number of different testing tools and frameworks, covering mobile app design consideration and best practice.
Who is this training for
This course is aimed at those wishing to conduct mobile accessibility test audits and want to learn more about how to use a mobile screen reader to navigate a native app.
This course is particularly applicable for designers, developers and testers of mobile applications, but may also be of interest to others directly involved in the production and development of content and strategy.
Attendees will need some awareness of accessibility standards and this course will focus on how these can be applied.
What will be covered
- A comprehensive overview of the two main mobile screen readers as well as what to look for when conducting an app accessibility review.
- Additional testing tools used to analyse app accessibility at the time of development, as well as more broad design considerations.
- Google and Apple design considerations and best practice.
- Use of advanced testing tools such as the Accessibility Scanner and Accessibility Inspector, as well as lint checks and automated testing frameworks

What to bring: You will need a good internet connection, access to a laptop or desktop computer and to be able to open/use the Zoom platform without restrictions on your device

Vayia Malamidou
Vayia Malamidou currently works as an Accessibility and Usability Consultant at AbilityNet. Her role includes carrying out design reviews, accessibility audits, user testing and providing in-depth consultancy to organisations on web accessibility and usability.
Having spent 20 years working in a variety of digital content projects, she now specialises in the domain of digital accessibility. She is accredited with the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) qualification awarded by IAAP.
