Trustee Profile: Douglas Silverstone

Douglas is the Head of Data, Analytics and Information Security for Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association, one of the UK’s largest Housing providers. He is a thought leader in the housing sector and looks to drive maximum value from an organisations data. He has been actively involved in sector initiatives to improve data use, and is passionate about the benefits of collaboration and best practice sharing of data.
 
He has 20+ years of experience on technology change projects and has implemented major CRM’s across the Not for profit sector. He worked at Citizens Advice for 8 years, and has also spent time running a CRM consultancy practice for charities.  His focus is now on Data, Master Data Management, Big data, Data standards and ethics, GDPR, analytics and most importantly tying it all together.  
 
He is a former Company Sectary of the Institute of Money Advisers and has wider charity trustee board experience.  He has an interest in social equality and poverty alleviation. 
 
Douglas has both Dyslexia and Aphantasia. He has worked with accessibility standards and has provided support to volunteer led organisations.
